Cela va malheureusement dans le sens de l'évolution egocratique de la conception européenne de l'actuel président français.
Je pense qu'il y a confusion conceptuelle entre État et nation. Il faudrait faire la différence entre l'Europe en tant que communauté de nations historiques et l'Union Européenne comme entitée super-étatique en construction.
Les deux concepts ne coïncident pas. l'Europe culturelle existe déjà mais le super-état européen n'existe pas vraiment. Il est un vu de l'esprit mais finalement de quel esprit? C'est une vieille idée qui a fait son chemin à travers les ages poussée par des forces qui possèdent presque religieusement pour ne pas dire obsessionnellement les acteurs de cette construction. On ne peut pas échapper à cet aspect mystique.
Le président du super-État européen n'est en conséquence ni trop grand ni trop petit, il n'est que le véhicule physique d'un esprit européen, peut-être est-ce simplement l'Esprit des Lumières?
I guess this new President who was chosen by EU leaders will be totally powerless. This is very good news in fact because European peoples will not get any order from the sky, where they do not know who runs power. Personnally the only important thing about these guys that were recently named is that they only speak English language and drop old French and other dusty languages that are out of globalisation and prevent Europe from unifying. Thank you President Giscard, I think you greatfully helped my linguistic dreams to come true. English is the future of Europe and its "projet de civilisation" as you say, you creapy French frogs!

La France elle-même a laissé tomber le français : vos dirigeants s'expriment dans l'anglais. L'Irak etc : vous pensez que l'élite s'exprime dans le Français sans doute ? Vous êtes ridicule ! En vérité, l'Europe à laquelle rêvent les Français est morte depuis une trentaine d'années, c'est-à-dire depuis que le français disparait peu à peu de l'espace public européen. C'est comme ça il faut être fair play, vous avez perdu. Et votre VGE national n'a pas vu que le défi essentiel de la France en Europe était de rapprocher les peuples entre eux et, en particulier, de la langue française. La recherche, la politique, la diplomatie, la culture, tout passe dans l'anglais aujourd'hui. Même les chanteurs français chantent dans l'anglais.
Je pense personnellement que la France n'a que ce qu'elle mérite. C'est dommage, votre De Gaulle avait la possibilité d'imposer le français dans les actes juridiques européens, il ne l'a pas fait, pas davantage votre Pompidou. Après la Grande Bretagne est rentrée dans l'Europe et on vous a bien eus ! Reconnaissez-le !
